Carbohydrates are an important macronutrient to our body; they give us the energy to perform various physical activities. But the low-carb diet is still one of the most popular diets in the fitness industry. But should you avoid carbohydrates?
Well, just like other macronutrients, carbohydrates are as important to our body. Simply, like everything balance is key. You shouldn’t over consume carbs and similarly, avoid them completely either.
Carbohydrates can be very fruitful if taken from good and healthy sources like rice, wheat, oats, etc. rather than processed carbs that have been highly added with chemicals and preservatives like, noodles, chips, etc.
Carbohydrates are best if taken post-workout. They can also be taken before your workout to fuel them.
So, should you avoid carbs? Absolutely, no but what’s efficient to you, follow the diet that you can stay sustained to for a long period because as soon as you, take a break after reaching your goal, you’ll gain the weight right back.
